As Christians dwelling in a fallen society, life can sometimes feel like a continuous struggle. Life seems to fight us every step of the journey, and as acknowledged in the latest Rocky movie, nobody hits harder than life.
This world attempts to steal our joy and our peace with every unexpected disaster, pitfall, and situation.
In the middle of the battle though, we forget that this is not our battle, and we neglect to acknowledge the supremacy and might of our King. Pride gets in the way and we think we have it all under control, and that we “got this,” but in reality we don’t.
Human strength lasts for only a short while, but the strength of the Lord lasts forever.
1 Chronicles 16:11
“Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!”
It is hard, I know, to entrust God with our battles and our trials, but that is where trust comes in. When the smoke of the battlefield has clouded your vision and you can no longer see the way, turn to the only one who can lift you above it.
God knows all things whereas human knowledge has its limits.
We are prideful beings and sometimes have a difficult time accepting that we cannot do it with our own strength.
“The king is not saved by his great army; a warrior is not delivered by his great strength.”
It hurts giving up control, but God has an incredible track record and He will not let us down. The battle is not ours, the battle is the Lords!
1 Samuel 17: 47
“… for the battle is the Lord’s.”
