Your Body Is A Temple…

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;  you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”

Aren’t our bodies awesome? We have organs, blood vessels, nerve endings, bones, lungs, muscles and joints and oh, so much more! Each and every body part operates in such a sophisticated order. Just think about it for a minute… About how amazingly wonderful your body is.

Wow! God has coded each of our DNA strands differently than everyone else’s. No one has your unique code! That fact alone is mind blowing!

Now for the real question. If our bodies are so amazing and sophisticated why aren’t we treating them like it?

Our Bodies Are Temples…

The Bible says that our bodies are temples, of the Holy Spirit. When we think of temples, the image that comes to mind is one of a beautiful, detailed place of worship. I know we teens are known for our consumption of fatty, sugary, and processed foods. We like pizza, sugar, Cokes, sodas, McDonald’s and a number of other things that are bad for our bodies.

Now don’t get me wrong, I like a good pizza and sugar as much as the next person, but is it really doing our bodies any good?

Junk Food Should Not Be In A Temple!

Eating junk food for a long period of time takes a toll on our bodies… God did not design our bodies to process fatty junk food, He designed us to get our fuel from fresh fruits and veggies, water, healthy fats, fish and organic meat.

When we don’t fuel our bodies with these foods it causes our bodies to function at a lower level.  God lives in us! Our bodies are a temple! So why are we feeding it junk?

Stop The Junk Funk!

Stop! Stop putting junk in your bodies and start giving it the organic nutrition it needs to run the way God designed.

When we eat junk it makes us feel yucky, tired, irritable and not up to the wonderful things God has in store for us. Whereas, when we eat healthy, organic foods we feel better and are full of energy, ready for all the big things God has in store for us!

I double dog dare you to stop eating fatty, processed foods and snacks for one week! Instead of eating junk, eat organic fruits, vegetables, and meats. I believe you’ll find you have more energy and you’ll feel better!
