People Will Let You Down

Trust

In this life it’s easy to put our trust in worldly things like…

Friends…

Money…

Possessions…

Talents…

Family…

Boyfriends/girlfriends…

But what happens when these things let you down?

It’s Dangerous to Put Our Trust in Earthly Things

The Bible makes it very clear that we are supposed to put our trust in the Lord and not into worldly possessions or people. People and materialistic things will let you down, notice that I didn’t say people and things might let you down, I said that they will let you down. Humans aren’t perfect! Let’s face it we all fall short of being 100% trustworthy.

Scripture says to never fully put our trust in man/possessions because if we do we will be in for disappointment and frustration. The Bible says to love others, to put them above us, and to put our full trust in the Lord.

God Is Trust Worthy

God never lies, He never laughs at our pain, He doesn’t talk about us behind our back, and He never is disinterested in us. Instead, He is fiercely loyal, and promises to always be there for us. Loyalty is a part of God’s character. He is for us not against us.

People Are Not So Trustworthy

Unlike God, people lie, people laugh at us, and people talk about us behind our backs. They get disinterested, and tired of our problems, they are not loyal, and will not always be there for us when we really need them to be. In other words people let us down.

Put Your Trust In God Not In People

God is the only one who will always be there for us. He is the only one who will never let us down. When we are tired, He gives us strength. When we are sad, He comforts us. When the things of this world let you down, whether it’s your boyfriend/girlfriend or even your family, know that God is always there for you 24/7. Turn to Him, trust in Him, and surrender you heart to Him, because He will never let you down.

Micah 7:5

Do not trust a neighbor;
put no confidence in a friend.
Even with the woman who lies in your embrace
guard the words of your lips.
