All I’ve Every Needed: a short story about redemption

I thought that if I had everything I would be happy… Not so, the “everything” the world said would make me happy left me feeling empty, alone and depressed. It’s true I have searched, scoured and combed the world for something to fill the gaping hole that had everything yet nothing. I tried, I really did to find the cure for an empty heart yet nothing worked… That is until I found you.  Continue reading “All I’ve Every Needed: a short story about redemption”

How to Be A Godly Leader

Hebrews 12:1-3

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

How does one become a good leader? Can God use you as a leader… Even when you don’t think He can? Continue reading “How to Be A Godly Leader”

Secular College Vs. Christian College

Some of you who are in your last few years in high school are probably thinking about what colleges you want to go to, what careers you want to have and all that good stuff. Now a lot of you are probably going to Christian college, but I know of some people who are playing around with the idea of going to secular college. Now please understand that I definitely do not support or encourage you to go to secular college but I saw a question on the that goes along these lines, so I decided to explore this question a little deeper. Happy reading and I hope you enjoy “Secular College Vs. Christian College.” Continue reading “Secular College Vs. Christian College”

The Narrow Road for Teens 2017 Booklist

Timothy Keller, the founding pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City, addresses the frequent doubts that skeptics and non-believers bring to religion. Using literature, philosophy, anthropology, pop culture, and intellectual reasoning, Keller explains how the belief in a Christian God is, in fact, a sound and rational one. To true believers he offers a solid platform on which to stand against the backlash toward religion spawned by the Age of Skepticism. And to skeptics, atheists, and agnostics he provides a challenging argument for pursuing the reason for God.” – Summary

I have not finished reading this book yet but from what I have read it is amazing! This is a book that deals with a wide range of topics  from; Why does God allow suffering in the world? To how could a loving God send people to Hell? It is (in my opinion) a must read for today’s youth.

How to Find Your Passion

What’s your passion?

Is it taking care of kids?

Is it playing sports?

Is it helping others?

Is it music?

Is it art?

I know a lot of teens my age and older don’t know what their passion is and a few years ago I was on that same boat. I wondered, “What makes me special? What’s my passion? And how do I find that passion?” I enjoyed doing a lot of things and I loved doing things that were interesting but what exactly was my passion? Continue reading “How to Find Your Passion”
